Red is the colour of sacrifice, and autumn maple leaves, and probably many other things, but none so red and true as the Ensign itself, except maybe Pantone 032.

Welcome to the Reddest Ensign, Canada’s most longstanding and truest source of reliable news reporting, commentaries, the occasional obituary, and facts.

Founded in March 2024, we chose to name this publication after Canada’s first and honestly lovelier flag. See how proudly we wear the Union Jack on our sleeves and that nice emblem thing that represents important parts of our heritage.

In honouring this flag, we strive to keep the memory of an earlier Canada alive. A Canada that was truly strong, and free, and glorious. A land where politicians meant what they said, where bread cost a nickel, and the Montreal Canadians were guaranteed to take home the Stanley Cup at least once every ten years.

We are the Reddest Ensign and every single thing you read on this site is without a doubt 100% factually correct and true. Yep.

We originally intended to simply call this website “the Red Ensign” but then we knew it was only a matter of time before some jokers made a rival website called “Redder Ensign” or some other bullshit. It left us with no choice but to double down and go for “Reddest” while there was still time.

Who are your news reporters?

The Reddest Ensign team is composed of countless people from across these great lands who have joined together in a bonded pact for the common good. All our writers are dedicated, patriotic individuals who want nothing more than to shed shed light on the most important issues of the day in as clear and unbiased a manner as humanly, or robotly, possible. Not that any of them are robots, of course. We would probably know. I mean, come on, robots are nothing like people. If a robot came up and was like hey can I write for your news website, we would certainly ask them, well, can you in fact write or are you one of those robots who are basically bread making machines that couldn’t ever hope to lift a pen to save its life? If it said it could write, then maybe, I would give it a chance. Not a big chance, but just a small enough chance to see if they have what it takes to succeed in this industry.
